Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 May 2026

The short version. ChoreMe has no servers. Your chores, shopping list and household data stay on your devices and in a cloud account you own — encrypted end-to-end before they leave the device. Giant Mushroom Studio cannot see your data, and collects nothing about you. There is no tracking and no advertising.

1. Who we are

ChoreMe is made by Giant Mushroom Studio. This policy covers the ChoreMe apps for iOS, Android and Apple Watch and the website at www.giantmushroom.studio/choreme.

2. What ChoreMe stores, and where

Everything you enter — people, chores, the schedule, the shopping list — is stored locally on your device. ChoreMe has no backend server, and no account with us. We never receive your data.

3. Household sync & your cloud provider

If you set up a shared household, ChoreMe syncs through a cloud account you connect — Nextcloud, Dropbox, Google Drive or iCloud. Your data is stored in that account, in a folder ChoreMe creates, and is handled under that provider's own privacy policy. ChoreMe stores the access tokens for the account only on your device, never with us.

4. Encryption

Every piece of synced data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device before it is uploaded. The encryption key is generated on-device and shared between your household's devices only through the pairing code you scan or send. The key is never transmitted to Giant Mushroom Studio or to the cloud provider — so even the provider stores only unreadable ciphertext.

5. Camera

ChoreMe uses the camera for one thing: scanning a household pairing QR code. The camera image is processed on the device and is never stored or transmitted.

6. What we collect

Nothing. ChoreMe contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you, because we receive no data from the app. If you email support, we will of course have whatever you put in that email.

7. Children

ChoreMe is a general-audience household app. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone — children included — because it collects no personal data at all.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
